The Villa

Villa Zefyros is owned and personally managed by Keith and Wendy Watkins (no management companies or agents) and is a beautifully furnished three-bedroom villa sleeping up to four persons (children five-year-old and above), with a private infinity/vanishing edge swimming pool and a secluded garden.

All rooms have free air conditioning and free central heating as well as insect screens. A substantial welcome pack is provided upon arrival.  

​

The villa is set in an elevated position 125 metres (410 feet) above sea level, on an exclusive small development with a private gated road. The villa enjoys spectacular, panoramic views of Chrysochou Bay and the natural, protected Akamas Peninsula. The traditional 300 year-old Cypriot village of Neo Chorio is within walking distance and Latsi (Latchi) harbour, beaches, restaurants and shops are a few minutes drive away.

The villa has ample outside furniture which includes a dining table and chairs under a large fixed shade, a gas BBQ, sun loungers, sun umbrellas and a pergola over the verandah. 

​

The interior ground floor consists of a large open plan living area with very comfortable furnishings. There is a TV, DVD home theatre system with an extensive DVD library, CD player, music library and dock for MP3 Player / iPod. The Internet TV system has a wide  range and vast quantity of international television channels and radio stations, as well as video channels with over 11,000 films! A collection of books is available to read by the swimming pool, or curled up on the sofa on a cool winter's night after a day exploring the Akamas.

There is a dining area and fully fitted kitchen, which includes an oven, hob, washing machine, fridge/freezer, two microwaves and a dish washer.

Also on the ground floor there is a bedroom with fixed bunk beds, fitted wardrobes and massage chair for your relaxation. This bedroom opens onto a small private verandah with direct access to the garden. There is an adjoining toilet with a wash basin and shower cubicle.

 

Upstairs the stunning master bedroom has a four poster bed, fitted wardrobes and an ensuite bathroom, with a bath, shower, toilet and wash basin. There is also a safe for guests' valuables. This bedroom opens onto a large "L" shaped private balcony which overlooks the swimming pool and garden with chairs and sun loungers enabling you to relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of Chrysochou Bay and the Akamas Peninsula - a perfect place to slowly wake-up and enjoy a leisurely breakfast.

The second upstairs double bedroom also has an ensuite bathroom with a shower cubicle, toilet and wash basin, as well as fitted wardrobes. It opens onto a small private balcony.

​

The villa has a spiral staircase from the first floor balcony, to a roof terrace "Sunset Bar" complete with a traditional wooden bench picnic table. What better place to sit with your cool drinks and some nibbles and enjoy the magnificent 360 degree views!  Drink in the spectacular vista of the Akamas Peninsula, the azure Mediterranean Sea's Chrysochou Bay, Latsi (Latchi) Harbour, Polis Chrysochou and the coastline around to Pomos, with the dramatic hills of Pafos Forest in the background.

The Location

Neo Chorio village has a few tavernas (the nearest is a few minutes walk from the villa) and a small supermarket. It is a 3 minute drive down to the beaches, shops and harbour of Latsi and a 10 minutes’ drive to the quaint town of Polis. The villa is approximately a 1 hour drive from Pafos (Paphos) International Airport and 2 hours from Larnaca International Airport. 

​

The villa is on the eastern edge of the Akamas Peninsula with immediate access to a myriad of off-road tracks and walking trails to enjoy the wild nature of the protected area and its magnificent inland and coastal scenery. 

 

The Myth

Zefyros is the Greek God of the West Wind who blew Aphrodite, the goddess of love (also the Roman goddess Venus), to Cyprus where she emerged from the foaming sea at Aphrodite’s Rock in Pafos District, as depicted in the famous painting by Sandro Botticelli (circa 1486 ~ view in Gallery). Hence the name, Villa Zefyros, as the villa faces west - a perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing pre-dinner cocktail whilst watching the vivid sunsets over the Akamas Peninsula and Chrysochou Bay!

Please Note

The villa has a Minimum of 6 Nights Booking Policy, however when circumstances permit, a 5 or 4 Nights Booking may be possible when a "short stay surcharge" will apply. 

 

In order to maintain the high standard of the villa for all future guests, the following policies apply:

• No Parties

• No Pets

• No Smoking

 

Arrival and Departure

Unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in advance by the Villa Owners, the following times apply:

• Check-in ~ 18:00 or later

• Checkout ~ 10:00 or sooner

 

The Villa Owners live nearby and they are normally available to meet, greet and check-in to the villa, all incoming guests. At this time the keys to the villa are handed over to the guests who are shown around the villa and any questions answered.

​

The Villa Owners are also normally available to checkout the guests upon their departure.

Should the Villa Owners be unavailable for either of these events then guests will be advised of alternative arrangements.

To enable the Villa Owners to perform these functions they shall require:

​

• Guests' arrival flight details (airline and flight number) to track the flight in case of delays

• Guests’ estimated time of arrival at the villa 

• Guests’ actual departure time from the villa

• Lead guest’s mobile telephone number 

 

Cleaning & Safety Practices

• The villa is cleaned with disinfectant - which includes the high-touch surfaces e.g. countertops, light switches, handles, taps and remote controls.

• All towels and bedding are washed in hot water with a temperature of at least 60ºC

• The villa has guest safety measures such as hand sanitisers

• The villa has a carbon monoxide and smoke alarm

• Check-in and checkout will be with no direct person-to-person contact if required due to situations such as COVID-19

• The villa has a minimum of 24 hours vacancy between bookings

Keith and Wendy Watkins, formerly from the United Kingdom, lived and worked (in equine veterinary and equestrian positions) in Hong Kong for 28 years before retiring to live in Cyprus in 2009.

 

Keith and Wendy own and personally manage Villa Zefyros and they have been welcoming guests to the villa since 2012, many of whom return on a regular basis with some staying for up to six weeks at a time.
